Joe Walsh

Joe brings over 40 years of homebuilding, land development, and real estate experience to Hazeloop-Walsh and Associates. Since retiring from Lennar as a Regional President, Joe has worked extensively in homebuilding consulting, debt restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, since 2011, Joe has been a Partner in Kowa Land, LLC, a Texas land acquisition and development company. This company was founded with George Kopecky, a long time successful homebuilder, in response to the lot shortage in the Houston and Austin markets.

Joe Walsh began his career in homebuilding and land development over 40 years ago with US Home Corporation in Houston, Texas (later to be acquired by and become Lennar Corporation). With his over 40 years with US Home/Lennar, he served in ever increasing leadership roles with profit and loss responsibility, from Project Manager, to Area Manager, to Division President. Close to mid-way through that career with US Home/Lennar, his roles continued to increase, serving as President of Operations for various regions ranging in size from eight homebuilding and land divisions in six states, to sixteen homebuilding and land divisions in eleven states. In his various operational senior management roles, he enjoyed multiple accomplishments including growing home deliveries from 2,000 to over 5,000, and increasing pre-tax income from less than $70 million to over $150 million. He has been responsible for overseeing assets over $1 billion at given times.

Homebuilding and land divisions were not his only operational scope while with US Home/Lennar. For several years, Mr. Walsh managed a US Home Corporation owned manufacturing facility of over 300,000 square feet and 400 employees, with the capacity to produce over 1,000 homes annually. He also created and managed a Special Projects Division to acquire raw land and develop, construct and sell hotel and apartment projects.

In addition to his extensive operational responsibilities, Mr. Walsh also has extensive financial markets experience, having arranged conventional and credit enhanced bond financing for commercial properties. He also arranged syndications and investor sales of developed hotel and apartment projects in multiple states. As well, he served as the lead manager in the acquisition of over ten private home building companies.

Mr. Walsh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas.
